"Bakrie's electability has significant threats for internal party," Executive Director of Study Center of Pancasila, Law and Democracy, Arif Hidayat said recently.
He added that Bakrie sat in the hird position (16.42 percent) while Jusuf Kalla got 17.33 percent and Priyo Budi Santoso 18.44 percent. The survey was taken from 1,090 respondents.
Many negative factors tarnished Bakrie's electability, such as his controversial video in Maldive with two celebrities and Lapindo mud flood case in East Java. Hidayat said that Golkar needed to evaluate its presidential candidate.
Golkar Party must learn from Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP). PDIP Chairman, Megawati Soekarnoputri gave mandate to Joko Widodo (popularly known as Jokowi) to replace her position as presidential candidate of the party.
