REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LANGKAT -- Police in North Sumatra's Langkat district have arrested two people suspected of trafficking 3.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

"We have arrested two suspected crystal methamphetamine traffickers," chief of narcotic unit at the Langkat district police Adj. Comr. Lukmin Siregar said here on Sunday.

The two suspects, identified by their initials as AJ and MF, are residents of Kesuma hemlet, Tanjungpura sub-district, Langkat district, he said.

The police made the arrest after receiving tip-offs that a few people abused crystal methamphetamine at the hamlet, he said.

The police later sent officers to the hamlet where they arrested the two suspects and searched the house of AJ, he said.
