REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - A meeting held by Golkar Party's Advisory Council decided to allow the party's cadres to become vice presidential candidate of other parties' presidential candidate.
"We asked Golkar Party's central board to allow our cadres to be vice presidential candidate and pairs with other presidential candidate," Chairman of Advisory Council of Golkar Party, Akbar Tanjung said recently.
There are at least three senior figures of Golkar Party named to be good vice presidential candidates, consist of Jusuf Kalla, Akbar Tanjung and Luhut Binsar Panjaitan. Either Jusuf Kalla or Akbar Tanjung is considered as the best running mate for Joko Widodo (popularly kown as Joko) of Indonesia Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) or Prabowo Subianto of Gerindra Party.
The four star general, Panjaitan was considered as a good running mate for Golkar Pary's internal candidat, Abu Rizal Bakrie. Yet, his candidacy was halted due to to party's poor performance during Genetal election on April 9 th.
