Ministry of Education and Culture launches an open senior high school

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SURABAYA -- Ministry of Education and Culture introduced the first open senior high school (SMA) devoted for poor student in remote areas.

This open school will be officially launched on Saturday (10/5). Director General of Secondary Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, Ahmad Jazidie said there are five requirements to be a student on this school.

First they come from remote areas. Then the student must came from an economic limitations, has a social problem. Fourth, they has a time limitation because their role to help their family. And last, the important thing is they were above 21 year old.

"The student with those criteria will get highest priority to be a student on open school," said Ahmad on the ceremony in Surabaya, East Java, Monday.
