REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of Democratic Party, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono asked Indonesian people not to choose a president who could endanger the nation. He hopes people to understand every promise given by each presidential candidate in a campaign.

"We need to know exactly what kind of government system to be run by a candidate. I will not choose a candidate who cannot implement his promise. The promise must bring a real benefit," Yudhoyono said in a talk show recently.

Yudhoyono highlighted that there was a candidate who promised to nationalize all foreign companies in Indonesia. It is difficult to fulfill the promise as it has consequence for Indonesian economy.

The president said that cooperation with foreign investors should give benefits for Indonesian people and government. Every government agreement must encourage Indonesia as the host in the country.

"It has a terrible impact. So I will not support any presidential candidate who insists to nationalize all foreign assets," he added.
