REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Presidential candidate of Indonesia Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Joko Widodo (known as Jokowi) holds marathon meeting with foreign ambassadors and diplomatic representatives.
On Wednesday, he met with 12 ambassadors and diplomatic representatives in Jakarta. They discussed various urban issues and the latest updates on Jakarta, including Jakarta Giant Sea Wall project.
Jokowi admitted that they also discussed political situation in Indonesia. The ambassadors keep guessing at who would be picked as Jokowi's running mate for the presidential election.
"Yes, question about my vice president was raised. But I told them that I haven't made any decision," Jokowi said.
Ambassador of Chile to Indonesia, Eduardo Ruiz Amusen said that Jokowi had charisma.
"It's something i can't answer, i hope the best for your country," Amusen said when asked about his opinion on presidential candidate.
Ambassador of Paraguay to Indonesia, Cesar Esteban Grillon praised that Jokowi. "Jokowi is very good," he said.
Jokowi opens the two week Diplomatic Corps Gathering 2014 and holds some meetings with foreign diplomatic corps since Monday. He kicked off a meeting with 14 ambassadors from Middle Eastern countries in Menteng, Central Jakarta on Monday.
On Tuesday, the governor had a meeting with the US Ambassador to Indonesia, Richard O Blake. The following day, the governor met with ambassadors from central and eastern Europe. In next Monday, he will meet with ambassadors from central, southern and western Asian countries.
