REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Said Aqil Siradj as leader of Islamic organization in Indonesia Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), personally declared his support towards Prabowo Subianto as the next presidet. 

"People are free to pick their own candidate but I personally support Prabowo (Subianto)," Siradj said on Thursday.

He believes that Subianto is a good leader capable to build Indonesia's economic sovereignty. Siradj added, the leader of Gerindra Party showed his concern about farmer, labors, and fishermen. 

"We need sovereignty geographically, economically, politically, and culturally," Siradj said then added that this country must be independent and should not be steered by a handful of investors.
