REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The arrest of Sutiman Wasis Utomo (45), the owner of Bakso Mie Wonogiri meatball shop, that proven used wild boar in its meatball ingredient, still left worry on residents. Latif, local people, even assessed Sutiman had done an evil doings.

Latif, an owner of coffee shop, near from Sutiman's meatball shop, was never suspicious. His grandchild and his child even eat the meatball every day.

Latif felt that his family had been cheated. Moreover, as a Muslim, consuming wild boar or pork was forbidden.

Rama, a resident of RW 12, sub-district of Pekojan, Tambora, West Jakarta, was one of Sutiman's meatball lovers.

"It's a favourite meatball vendor. Lurah also eats the meatball," Rama Said.

Chief of Department of Livestock and Fisheries, Ir. Eviaty, called by Republika on Thursday (15/5), claimed to be ready to combat the trafficking of wild boar, especially in West Jakarta. Eviaty said, her institution continued to conduct intensive monitoring, especially in the market. The department of livestock and fisheries continued routine activities of market investigation for three times a week.

The investigation was not only for monitoring the wild boar, but also other violation, for example selling rotten chicken and forbidden meat called 'gelonggongan'.

Eviaty said, wild boar is not only forbidden for Muslim but also illegal for trafficking it. "A legal meat is pork livestock," Eviaty said.

Her institution was searching somebody identified as Jon, who suspected as wild boar's supplier. According to Sutiman's statement, Jon was domiciled in Cengkareng, West Jakarta. But she also alerted, if the information was just a camouflage.

She also added that it was difficult to detect the presence of wild boar supplier after the case was discovered. "They might be cooling down," Eviaty said.
