REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Presidential candidate Joko Widodo (known as Jokowi) and his running mate Jusuf Kalla arrived at Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital, Jakarta on Thursday to have medical checkups as required by the General Elections Commission (KPU) for presidential election on July 9, 2014. The medical examination lasted for about eight hours for each of them.
Chairman of Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI), Zaenal Abidin explained that the medical team examined the candidates' medical history and other mental and physical examinations.
"The tests are also including on their blood, urine, kidney and tumor," Abidin said.
Meanwhile the other presidential candidate, Prabowo Subianto, and Hatta Rajasa as his running mate are scheduled to have their medical examinations at the same hospital on Friday.
