REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesia's General Elections Commission (KPU) declared that all presidential candidates and their running mates had fulfill medical eligibility criteria on Saturday.
KPU believes that Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla (popular as Jokowi-JK) and Praboso Subianto-Hatta Rajasa (known as Prabowo-Hatta) are capable of doing their jobs as president and vice preisdent if they get elected on July 9, 2014 presidential elections.
According to the head of KPU, Husni Kamil Manik the declaration was made after assessing the results of medical examinations recommended by Indonesia's Medical Doctors' Association and Central Army Hospital Gatot Subroto in Jakarta.
"The medical examinations show that Jokowi-JK and Prabowo-Hatta are psycologically and physically healthy," Manik said.
According to head of IDI Central Board, Zaenal Abidin, 42 experts consisting of 14 pedical doctors and one team of phsycologists, are involved in the presidential medical examinations.
The team members are internists, cardiologists, pulmonlogists, surgeons, urologists, orthopedicians, ginecologist, and neurologists. There are also opthamologist, clinical pathologists, anatomic pathologists, radiologists, and psychiatrist.
