REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Presidential candidate, Prabowo Subianto, praised and thanked Mahfud MD for his willing to accept a position as head of campaign team to win him and his running mate, Hatta Rajasa as the next president and vice president in Indonesia.
Subianto praised Mahfud, the former head of Constitutional Court, as an intellectual figure, legal expert, as well as Muslim figure who had wide communication access with all elements among society.
"I am very grateful that a national figure like Professor Mahfud MD willing to be the head of campaign team. If God is willing we will win," Subianto said on Tuesday.
The former Indonesia Army's Special Force Command (Kopassus) commander claimed that he got many supports from intellectual figures, legal experts, also Muslim figures. But he rarely sees anyone who has those three combinations at once.
