REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BEIJING -- The Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN) Regional Cooperation Summit was held in Kuala Lumpur, June 3, 2014.
The summit discussed the issues of the Hong Kong - East Asian regional cooperation platform and 'evolution of Hong Kong-ASEAN relations'.
Around 200 political and business representatives from Malaysia, Hong Kong and the ASEAN countries attended the summit.
Malaysian Minister of International Trade and Industry Dato'Sri Mustapa Mohamed stated that, both Malaysia and Hong Kong are opening economic entities, and also important parts of the world economy.
He said he believes that economic globalization will benefit all people. Mustapa hoped the ASEAN Economic Cooperation Summit could be a new beginning of cooperation between Malaysia and Hong Kong, so as to bring more investments from Hong Kong and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
