REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAKASSAR -- Vice presidential candidate, Jusuf Kalla criticized current government under President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Kalla compared it with the previous government during his term as vice president in 2004-2009.
"Both terms are under the same president, but each situation is different," Kalla said during a dialogue with community leaders and volunteers in Makassar, South Sulawesi recently.
Kalla claimed that during his term, Yudhoyono's government had different approach in decision making as well as responsibility. He implicitly said that Indonesia would be better if he stayed as Yudhoyono's vice president.
Kalla criticized that Indonesia always prided the success story in the past. Now, he said, this country needed a leader with good command and could be a good role model.
"I made the decisions when my boss (Yudhoyono, ed) couldn't," Kalla claimed then adding that he was the one initiating Aceh's peace talks and gas conversion, the policy that made people shifted their energy use from kerosene to gas.
