REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Former Indonesian Armed Forces (ABRI) commander Gen. Ret. Wiranto was reported to Criminal Investigation Division at Police Headquarters on Wednesday, related to his statements to some publications on June 19, 2014.
"There are two slander statements about the kidnapping initiatives involving Prabowo Subianto and Prabowo's status who was fired from the military," spokesman of Red and White Coalition, Krist Ibnu said on Wednesday.
According to Ibnu, Wiranto failed to show any document to back up his accusation. Wiranto could face four years in prison if guilty. But, Ibnu will need to complete the evidence before the case proceed according to law.
Wiranto was Prabowo’s commanding officer during the tumultuous events of 1998. Wiranto said that the presidential candidate had his own initiative in kidnapping some activists.
