REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice presidential candidate M. Jusuf Kalla was hospitalized at the Abdi Waluyo Hospital, Central Jakarta, on Sunday night, but it was not because of the vice presidential debate, stated a spokesman.

"No, it was just a routine medical checkup. I confirm one thousand percent that he was not exhausted because of the Sunday evening debate," Akbar Faisal, a member of the Joko Widodo (Jokowi)-Jusuf Kalla (JK) success team, remarked at the Jokowi-JK Media Center, here on Monday.

Kalla was now resting at home, and he will continue with the election campaigning when his condition gets better, he added.

Faisal stated that JK spent a night in hospital to undergo a medical checkup.
