REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- All sides should cooperate to prevent travel ticket scalping in the face of the post-fasting Idul Fitri festivities, stated Transportation Minister E.E. Mangindaan.
"Ticket scalping practice is one of the things that should be prevented by the alert forces of the police and other security officials," the transportation minister emphasized here on Monday.
Mangindaan remarked that the passengers were also expected to report to the security officials if they found scalpers offering services or selling tickets.
The minister has ordered his rank and file to take action against individuals who are involved in scalping practices.
"I have asked my rank and file to act against ticket scalpers and prevent hike in ticket prices, which exceed the official tariff rates as this will be disadvantageous to the public," he added.
