Jokowi-JK win in ten overseas locations

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Presidential candidate Joko Widodo, popularly known as Jokowi, has won the election in 10 locations abroad according to data from the General Elections Commission (KPU) on Thursday.

The 10 locations are Vientiane (Laos), Ghuangzou (China), Yangon (Myanmar), Kinabalu and Kuching (Malaysia), Budapest (Hungary), Bucharest (Romania), Zagreb (Croatia), Tokyo (Japan), and Melbourne (Australia).

KPU continues to gather vote results from the remaining 120 overseas locations. The temporary data has revealed that Jokowi and his running mate Jusuf Kalla had received 79,548 votes, while their rivals Prabowo Subianto and his running mate Hatta Radjasa had received 57,781 votes.

A total of 2,038,711 Indonesians who have been listed as eligible voters in the presidential election held from July 4 to 6 are residing abroad.

In total, 190,307,134 Indonesians are eligible to cast their vote in the 2014 presidential election.

The presidential election has been contested by two pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates--Jokowi with his running mate Jusuf Kalla and Prabowo Subianto with his running mate Hatta Rajasa.
