The Court's judge asks witness to prove money politic in presidential election

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Constitutional Court held third hearing in disputed general election result on Monday at 09:00 AM local time. The agency still examined 25 witnesses of General Election Commission (KPU).

One of witnesses, Muhamad Saiin, member of KPU Jember in East Java conveyed informations related to 2014 general election. He denied any lawsuit filed by Prabowo Subianto and Hatta Rajasa.

One of judges, Patrialis Akbar questioned the witness about fraud indication through delivering gloves, instant noodles, oil and rice to voters at Bangsal Sari village, Jember.

"Was it true?" Akbar asked on Monday.

Saiin said that he just heard the violation indication from the applicant (Prabowo-Hatta team).

"I never heard the money politics issue. The recommendation related to the criminal offense was not our interests," Saiin answered.

KPU rejected the lawsuit drawn up by No.1 Presidential Candidate, Prabowo Subianto and Hatta Rajasa against the election results on Friday. The lawsuit based on allegations of massive and systematic fraud during 2014 election. Prabowo and Hatta seek to annul the KPU results that declared victory for Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo and Jusuf Kalla, based on a margin of more than 8 million votes.
