REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The elected president, Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo said that he had prepared a resignation letter as Jakarta governor. However, Jokowi still waited for the right time to submit the letter to Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of Jakarta.

"I have written the letter and now I'm waiting for the right time," Jokowi said on Friday.

Jokowi explained that he had to postpone his resignation as there was still important agenda to be completed, such as the inaguration of new DPRD members on Monday, August 25. There is also the election of DPRD chairman after that.

"It still on going process, so wait the time," he said.

Jokowi becomes the new president with his running mate, Jusuf Kalla. He was elected by General Election Commission (KPU) strengthened by the Constitutional Court's verdict, which had rejected the lawsuit filed by Prabowo Subianto and Hatta Rajasa.
