REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The National Mandate Party (PAN) asserted to remain as opposition party during government period of Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo and Jusuf Kalla. The party to guard the ruling government, which must be pro-welfare.

PAN chairman, Hatta Rajasa said that he committed to stay together in Red and White Coalition with Gerindra, Golkar, Democratic Party, Prosporeus Justic Party (PKS), United Development Party (PPP) and Crescent Star Party (PBB).

"We're going to stick together," Rajasa who was vice presidential candidate No. 1 said on Friday in Jakarta as reported by Erdy Nasrul.

PAN secretary general, Taufik Kurniawan said that his party would be outside the government. He denied rumours circulating that the party would join Jokowi and JK coalition.

"I think our commitment is clear that PAN remains in the Red and White Coalition," Kurniawan said.

Although the Constitutional Court rejected all claims related to the presidential election result submitted by Prabowo Subianto and Hatta Rajasa, PAN did not give more statement.

"Right now, we stand in Red and White Coalition," Kurniawan said and added that several PAN leaders had signed the agreement, including PAN deputy chairman, Dradjad Wibowo.
