Corruption convict arrested in Manokwari after years on the run

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BIAK - A task force from the Biak Numfor prosecution has nabbed a law fugitive, former head of the finance division of the Supiori regency administration Robert Kawer, after more than three years on the run. 

Kawer was involved in the embezzlement of 1.2 billion IDR in state fund. The corruption convict was nabbed in Manokwari on Friday morning after being in hiding since the Supreme Court confirmed that he was guilty in October 2011, Biak chief prosecutor Made Jaya Ardana said. Ardana said Kawer had been brought to Biak to serve his two-year jail term.
