REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CIKEAS -- President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono held a meeting with the elected president, Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo in Bali last week. He confirmed that there was no political agreement or political interest discussed in the meeting.
"As we know, after the Constitutional Court decided Jokowi and Jusuf Kalla as the next president and vice president, I held a meeting with them. It was an official meeting between me as current president with Jokowi as the next president. There was no political deal," Yudhoyono said on Tuesday at Puri Cikeas Indah, Bogor.
Bali meeting discussed about Jokowi readiness. Yudhoyono has a moral obligation to explain government agenda, so that the new system is ready to carry out the tasks. He expected that the meeting would be a political tradition continued by the next leaders.
On Tuesday, Yudhoyono held the next meeting with representatives of Red and White Coalition. He thanked the Coalition, which recognized the 2014 election result and continued the political struggle.
"The 2014 presidential election was dynamic. The world gives us appreciation because the peaceful and democratic election," Yudhoyono added.
Several senior coalition came to meet Yudhoyono, such as Hatta Rajasa (Chairman of National Mandate Party), Syarif Hasan (Chief Executive of Democratic Party), Fadli Zon (Vice Chairman of Grindra Party), Idrus Marham (Secretary General of Golkar Party), Emron Pangkapi (Secretary General of United Development Party) and BM Wibowo (Secretary General of Crescent Star Party).
