REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SIMPANG AMPEK -- West Sumatra Governor Irwan Prayitno is scheduled to inaugurate the Pusako Anak Nagari Airport in Pasaman Barat District on Thursday, noted a local official.

"The governor is scheduled to inaugurate the airport in Pasaman Barat district on Thursday as all facilities and infrastructure have been readied for the inauguration," local transportation and communication department spokesman Bobby P. Riza revealed here on Tuesday.

He remarked that some airplanes operated by Susi Air will serve three flights per week for the Simpang Ampek-Padang and Padang-Simpang Ampek routes with the ticket fare set at Rp300 thousand per passenger.

He was optimistic that the Pusako Anak Nagari Airport will facilitate easier transportation from Padang and other areas to Simpang Ampek.

According to Riza, overland transportation between Padang and Simpang Ampek could take five to six hours, but once the airport becomes operational, it will take only 30 minutes by a Susi Air plane.

"With smooth and easy air transportation to Simpang Ampek, we hope that more investors will come to invest in the district," Riza added.
