REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) keeps welcomes the Red and White Coalition to join the cabinet of Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo and Jusuf Kalla (JK), though they have been defeated in the local election legalization voting.
PDIP's Deputy Secretary General, Achmad Basarah said that the different views about direct and indirect election were parts of political dynamics.
"We do not hold a grudge against particular party," Basarah said on Monday.
PDIP wanted to keep away from the negative thinking that there would be Prabowo's supporting party joining the Jokowi-JK cabinet.
"In time, they will be back," Basarah added.
The Founder of Baitul Muslimin Indonesia believes that there are no eternal friends and enemies in politics. The eternal thing in politics is an interest. According to him, everything is still possible, including the additional political support for the government of Jokowi and JK.
After the Election Bill passed by the House of Representatives, PDIP maintains its communication with three political parties in Red and White Coalition, namely United Development Party (PPP), National Mandate Party (PAN) and Democratic Party. Basarah hopes that the party will get a positive response from Red and White Coalition.
"PDIP embraces the essence of Pancasila, namely the mutual cooperation," he said.
