REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Deputy Secretary General of Gerindra Party, Aryo Djojohadikusumo said that the Red and White Coalition would keep support Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo and Jusuf Kalla if their programs were in line with the memorandum of understanding of both coalition.
According to Djojohadikusumo, if the proposed policy package by the House leadership in parliament accepted by the new government, the Red and White Coalition would not necessarily reject Jokowi programs.
"Our main goal is the welfare of society. We are not going to reject it a hundred percent. We will support Jokowi's pro-people programs if in line with our programs," Djojohadikusumo said recently.
Red and White Coalition will fight for people's welfare. According to him, it is not true if the coalition's decision obstructing people's will.
Djojohadikusumo said that the indirect election through local parliament was an extension of Indonesian people hands. The Coalition assessed that the direct election of local head only produced a lot of corruptors.
Red and White Coalition will propose the House leadership package system based on Legislative Institution Law (MD3), even if the composition would make PDIP difficult to get a leader position.
"If PDIP joins the coalition, of course we welcome them," he explained.
