REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The elected president Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo was urged to announce names of ministerial candidates before the inaguration on October 20, 2014. People can control and give input to the new president.
"We hope that Jokowi will announce it on Oct 16, so people have about five days to give input to him," political analyst from Indonesian Civilized Circle, Ray Rangkuti said on Sunday.
According to him, Jokowi must involve communities in cabinet structure. People can see who has the capability and competence and who has not. People can see who has the national ideology, protecting national enterpreneurs and meet public expectation.
"We don't want candidates who support the neo-liberal free market," Rangkuti said.
He did not agree if Jokowi announced the structure, but not the candidate. The weak position in the House of Representatives must drive Jokowi to follow people's interests.
Jokowi reduces his ministerial seats from 34 to 33 posts, including 15 seats for political parties.
