"The foreign airplane has been forced to land because it does not have crossing permit in Indonesia territory," the Commander of Sam Ratulangi Airbase Colonel Hesly Paat said on Wednesday.
Paat said the airplane took off from Darwin, Australia heading to the Philippines. The airplane has been detected by the National Air Defense Command radar on Wednesday. Indonesian Sukhoi had ordered the BE 95 to return to Australia but the pilot ignored the command. The pilot also ignored the landing order in Ambon city.
"We ordered the airplane to land in Manado as the last airbase because their destination is to the Philippines," Paat said.
