REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Edi Sukmoro was inagurated as President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) replacing Ignatius Jonan, who is now becoming minister of transportation. Minister of State Owned Enterprises, Rini Soemarno and board of KAI directors witnessed the inaguration on Wednesday (29/10).

"We determine Sukmoro through a series of fit and proper tests, including the consideration of Ignatius Jonan," Soemarno said on Wednesday.

Sukmoro previously served as management director of non-railway assets in KAI. He has the capacity to manage KAI in future. Sukmoro said that he would continue the previous programs, which were already good.

"We are ready and always serve the public by creating the security of railway passengers," Sukmoro added.
