REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesia asks Germany to ease the access for Indonesian products, especially commodity. The demand was stated during President Joko Widodo meeting with German Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier in State Palace on Monday (3/11). The President Jokowi was accompanied by Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi and State Secretary Pratikno.
"We asked Germany to ease the access for Indonesian products," said Retno after meeting with Steinmeier. They also discussed on bilateral ties focusing on economic matters.
Germany is one of Indonesia major export partners with the total trade up to 7.3 billion USD. Both countries also cooperate on several investments such as hospitals and manufactures.
Both ministers also talked on maritime cooperation in terms of building ports and infrastructure, in line with Jokowi working program.
Retno said that they also discussed on diplomatic matters. "We asked for free visa for black and blue passports. He said that he would see the possibility," she said.
After meeting Minister Steinmeier, President Jokowi was expected to meet China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
