REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Chief of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Abraham Samad has said President Joko Widodo must choose a person with the highest integrity and morality as attorney general.
"Choose the one with integrity and morality," he stated after attending a workshop on "Coordination of the supervision of corruption prevention" at City Hall on Thursday.
He added that morality and integrity could be assessed by checking at the person's track record. The right person for the post must be clean and not involve in any legal case, he said, adding that Indonesia had some figure who fulfilled the requirements. When asked about candidates for the post, the KPK chief declined to divulge any name, saying it was the prerogative of the President. However, he noted, the KPK would be ready to track the background of candidates if it received such a request.
