REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR -- President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo issued bold statement by prohibiting all ministers to attend meeting with House of Representatives as the parliament still collided.
"I think it is wrong to attend such meeting (with the splitting parliament)," Jokowi said during meeting in Bogor Palace on Monday, November 24. He said that the parliament must solve their differences before holding a meeting with the ministers.
The Indonesia's seventh president also showed his scepticism on parliament's call. "We have been working for only a month," he said.
Politic expert from Indonesian University, Agung Suprio, said the President degraded political party that supported him. "It proves that Jokowi takes those who support him for granted," Suprio said.
Instead of prohibiting his ministers to attend meeting with the House, Jokowi is urged to mute the tension between conflicting coalitions. Suprio said Jokowi could not issue such statement regarding to parliament.
