REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Maritime and Fishery Affairs Susi Pudjiastuti defended that government's policy in sinking illegal vessels was not declaring war with other countries. The policy merely reflects Indonesian position in law enforcement in the country.

"It is not war. We only deal with stealing fish conducted by businessman," Pudjiastuti said on Friday, December 5.

Indonesian Navy will sink three illegal vessels tomorrow in Anambas, Riau Islands. The vessels, caught conducted illegal fishing, are from Vietnam.

The owner of Susi Air said other vessels would be sunk this month. The vessels  belong to Thailand. She said the move would be carried out in Kota Batu, South Kalimantan, in December 14.
