REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- House of Representatives criticizes Minister of State-owned Enterprises Rini Soemarno who plans to recruit expatriate to head state-owned enterprises. Deputy Chairman of the Parliament, Fadli Zon, said the plan underestimated the capability of Indonesian professionals.

"It implies that Indonesians are not capable enough to head the enterprises," Fadli Zon said on Tuesday, December 16.

He believes that many Indonesians have the quality to head state-owned enterprises. Yet, he admitted that it might not easy to find such persons who match with te criteria requested.

The Gerindra politician said that parliament would agree if government paid high salary to the heads of state-owned enterprises. However, such persons must be capable in carrying the duties  as well as successfully achieving the enterprises' target.
