REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- A politician from Democratic Party, Marwan Cik, asked President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo to exchange ideas with former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Cik said that Yudhoyono, the chairman of Democratic Party, could openly give advice to Jokowi, especially in economic issue.
"For the last ten years, Yudhoyono had tonnes of experiences in facing the turbulence of global economy," Marwan Cik said on Friday, December 19.
He claimed that during Yudhoyono term, Indonesia could compete with advanced countries, such as China, India, Brazil and Russia.
"SBYnomic successfully took Indonesia passing economic crisis in 2008 and 2009," he said, referring to Yudhoyono, know with his initial as SBY.
Cik recommended Jokowi to assign his economic team to discuss with Yudhoyono. "SBYnomic could be a reference to overcome rupiah's weakness," he said.
