REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAKASSAR -- Minister of Manpower Muhammad Hanif Dhakiri promised that Indonesia would be child labour free country in 2022. He urged companies in Indonesia to stop hiring child labors.

"We expect Indonesia to be child labor free in 2022 with zero child labor program," Dhakiri said recently. The program will be initiated in Makassar, South Sulawesi. Other cities in Indonesia are expected to follow.

The minister urged every stakeholder, including governors, mayors and companies to support the program. "Without their support, the program will be just a sheet of paper," he said.
