REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SAMARINDA -- Bontang City Mayor of East Kalimantan Adi Dharma said Bontang would soon have an oil refinery plant, which would be the biggest of its kind in Indonesia.
"This year we will visit a number of ministries to make sure the development of the oil refinery plant project in Bontang. It is something regrettable if the project is not realized," he said here on Monday (13/1).
He said that the discourse on the development of the plant had been raised in 2012 but that time The project faced land clearance problem.
"We need a site of 500 hectares of land to build the plant. Now, the Bontang regional government has already obtained the land," Adi added.
He said that state-owed oil and gas company Pertamina also already had 500 hectares of land in Bontang which is included within the area of PT Badak NGL industrial zone, he added.
