REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Attorney General HM Prasetyo said here on Sunday that the execution of six drug convicts by a firing squad had been carried out well and smoothly.

"Five of the death row convicts were executed at the Nusakambangan prison compound while the other one in Boyolali," he said.

He said there was a change of execution schedule from initially at 00.10 am to 00.30 am while the execution in Boyolali was carried out at 00.46 am.

He said he received a report from the team in Nusakambangan at 00.41 am assuring that the convicts had been pronounced dead by doctors at 00.40am.

"Actually they died instantly but to assure that they had really died our team of doctors waited for about 10 minutes to confirm it," he said.

He said three of the bodies of the convicts were cremated and three others were buried in line with their wishes.

"In line with his wish - it happened that his wife was present - Ang Kim Soei's body would be cremated and his ashes would be taken home in the Netherlands," he said.

March Archer from Brazil was also cremated and his ashes were given to his aunt.

Tran Thi Bich Hanh from Vietnam was cremated in Semarang, Central Java and in line with her demand her ashes "would be buried beside the tomb of her spiritual leader that has baptized her," he said.

"Rani Andriani's body meanwhile is taken to her home village in Cianjur," he said.

The remains of Dani Enemuo alias Diarrassouba Mamadou of Nigeria was taken to his country while those of Namaona Denis of Malawi was buried in Nusakambangan.
