REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KUPANG -- Police's anti terrorist squad, Densus 88, has arrested a man suspected of being a terrorist in East Nusa Tenggara.
Syarif was nabbed in the village of Ranggawatu, sub-district of Sanonggoang, Manggarai Barat, on Saturday, East Nusa Tenggara police spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. Agus Santosa, said.
"Syarif is being interrogated by Densus 88 and Manggarai Barat police. The plan is he would be flown to Jakarta today," Agus told Antara news agency on Sunday.
Syarif was from Bima living in the village of Pola. He is married to a woman from Labuan Bajo, Manggarai Barat.
Police have received suspicious report about Syarif's activities and had been looking for him before he was finally nabbed when on his way to toward Labuan Bajo in a public buss.
Apparently he knew that police were after him, and he was trying to flee and escape, Agus said.
"Until now we know only that. We are awaiting the result of the interrogaiton ," he said.
