REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- Indonesia and Swaziland agreed to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation by exploring trading and investment opportunities, according to a statement from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs received here on Friday (25/4).

The agreement was reached during the bilateral meeting between Indonesian President Joko Widodo and King of Swaziland Mswati III on the sidelines of the Asian-African Conference 2015 in Jakarta, Thursday (April 23).

Economic and technical cooperation are the two main issues that were discussed at the meeting. Both leaders agreed to strengthen trading cooperation and explore investment opportunities.

President Joko Widodo was of the view that the US$3.18 million worth of bilateral trade between Indonesia and Swaziland indicates that the two countries had yet to tap into their true potential.

Therefore, he expected an extension of export access for Indonesian products in Swaziland, such as automotive, food products, crude palm oil derivative products, garments, and footwear.

With regard to investment, both countries will explore areas of cooperation in mining and other sectors, especially in coal and iron ore.

Both leaders have shared their views on technical cooperation for strengthening the capacity.

President Joko Widodo offered several capacity building programs from Indonesia that can be utilized by the people of Swaziland, such as capacity building programs in agriculture, education, and development of small-medium enterprises.

Mereka meminta fatwa kepadamu (tentang kalalah). Allah Maha Mengetahui segala sesuatu.”
