REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- State-owned postal service company PT Pos Indonesia has set an income target of Rp5.6 trillion this year by boosting its package dispatch and philately services.

"We will boost our package distribution services and philately sales, particularly stamps, this year. We have set ourselves the target of earning an income of Rp5.6 trillion. In the first quarter of this year, the target was already on the right track," PT Pos Indonesia President Director, Budi Setiawan, said on Saturday (25/4).

He said that with an income target of Rp5.6 trillion, there will be a 30 percent growth in income this year, compared with the previous year.

The high growth in online trading or e-commerce in the country had boosted the company's expedited or package dispatch services this year, he said.

PT Pos Indonesia is collaborating with a number of online trade service operators for the dispatch of their packages.

"The growth in e-commerce in Indonesia is estimated to touch 40 percent. And it will continue to grow. PT Pos Indonesia is their package dispatch partner," he said.

The growth will also be boosted by other services, such as money orders and retail services, as well as by logistical income and other business services.

Besides that PT Pos Indonesia will also ramp up its business from the philately sector, namely stamp sales, he said.
