REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA –- The member of House of Representative (DPR) from Indonesia Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) faction, Irmadi Lubis urged President Joko Widodo to put suitable figures as ministers in cabinet. It is appropriate with mandate from founding fathers to increase government performance and economic growth.
“I saw for almost 7 months of Jokowi’s government, there are no achievements shown by the ministers of cabinet, especially the ministers in economic field,”said Irmadi in Jakarta, on Thursday, May 7.
According to Irmadi, the government has implemented a fluctuated fuel prices according to market prices which have an impact on the price of basic needs became unstable.
The survey results of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) announced on Tuesday, May 5, summed up the first quarter economic growth in 2015 amounted to 4.71 percent, the economic growth slowed down compared to the same period last year which reached 5.14 percent.
“I urge President to be brave for reshuffling the cabinet, especially the ministers of economics,” he said.
Minister performances, he said, would affect President’s performance as a head of state and head of government.
According to him, President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla decision to accommodate ministers for political power from coalition of political parties supporting the government should lead to quality and achievement.
