REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAYAPURA -- President Joko Widodo reminded personnel of the military and police to be concerned about the existence of terrorism, radicalism, and the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in particular.
"Terrorism and radicalism pose the most serious challenges. We should not underestimate the ISIS," he said here on Saturday.
According to the president, all countries are concerned about the existence of the ISIS. The presence of this radical group is a subject of discussion at various conferences.
"All countries discuss the problem of the ISIS in international conferences," he pointed out.
The head of state reiterated that terrorism and radicalism must be handled by the military and police properly.
He emphasized that stability and infrastructural development were the two keys to developing a country.
The government, he noted, focuses on the development of infrastructure, which should be supported by political stability and security.
"Political stability has been established properly, but because of the presence of the ISIS, the military and police should be careful," the president stated.
