REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian Ambassador to Pakistan, Burhan Muhammad, passed away at the Singapore Hospital on Tuesday early morning, May 19. He had to undergo treatment of burns due to a helicopter crash in Pakistan on Friday ago, May 8.
Vice President Jusuf Kalla also gave his condolences on the death of Ambassador Burhan. "We are very sad," said Kalla at the Vice President's Office, Jakarta, on Tuesday, May 19.
According to the Secretary of the Vice President Mohammad Oemar, JK will give his final tribute to Ambassador Burhan after his remains arrived in Indonesia on this Tuesday night. Earlier, in a brief message, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi, giving news related to the death of the Ambassador Burhan.
Burhan reportedly suffered burns to 75 percent in parts of his body because helicopter crash in Pakiskan. These events were also killed Burhan’s wife, Hery Listyawati.
The helicopter incident killed seven people, among them the two pilots and one crew citizens of Pakistan, Ambassador of Norway to Pakistan Leif Larsen, Ambassador of the Philippines to Pakistan Domingo Lucenario, and the wife of the Ambassador of Malaysia to Pakistan, and also Hery Listyawati, wife of Ambassador to Pakistan, Burhan Muhammad.
