REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) will hold a National Working Meeting here on Monday to promote the potentials of eastern Indonesian regions to domestic and foreign investors.
The National Working Meeting, which will be based on the theme of "Trade & Investment Forum: East Indonesian Regions," will be opened by President Joko Widodo and closed by Vice President Jusuf Kalla.
"We will offer projects that are ready to be developed and provide recommendations on effective policies to expedite development in eastern Indonesian regions," Kadin Coordinator and Deputy Chairman for Eastern Areas Annar Salahuddin Sampetoding said in a written statement in Jakarta on Saturday.
The program will involve domestic and foreign investors, as well as representatives of state-owned companies (BUMN).
"We will also offer projects that are ready to be developed and recommend effective policies to expedite economic development in the eastern parts of the country," Sampetoding added.
The forum, which will coincide with the national working meeting of the chamber, will be held in Borobudur Hotel in Jakarta on May 25.
Sampetoding further noted that one of the highlights of the occasion will be a panel discussion, which will focus on national- and regional-level policies that favor the acceleration of development projects in the eastern parts of Indonesia.
He pointed out that Kadin was open to discussing anything to find solutions to ensure that development projects in the eastern regions were expedited.
"We need innovations and breakthroughs in terms of policies, implementation and supervision so the momentum leads to concrete steps to expedite the development projects," he remarked.
