REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chief of the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) General Moeldoko here on Monday, attended a hearing with the House of Representatives (DPR) to discuss three issues, including issues on strategic issues at the global, national and regional levels.
Another issue to be discussed during the hearing would be about the latest internal developments of TNI, Moeldoko said at the Parliament Building.
They would also discuss about the budget allocated for TNI and the progress of programs planned by the military.
The hearing would not touch about a possible replacement of TNI chief because the issue is the prerogative rights of the President, he added.
In the meantime, Indonesian President Joko Widodo is still considering candidates to replace the current commander of the Indonesian Military (TNI).
"Deliberations over candidates for the post of the TNI commander are still ongoing. I need to say that all nominees have been submitted to me. This is the prerogative of the president and we will wait," General Moeldoko told reporters.
The president added that he had received a variety of inputs that will be taken into consideration in making his decision later.
However, he has not announced the names of the candidates and the deadline for the determination of the next TNI commander who will replace General Moeldoko.
