REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- State Intelligence Agency (BIN) became one of the important institutions in security and information for the president. ‘Imparsial’ Research Coordinator Gufron Mabruri urged President Joko Widodo to choose suitable person as the new Head of BIN (KaBIN).

Gufron said selecting KaBIN was not just a business to replace the figure.

"BIN is eye and ear of the President, do not pick wrong person," said Gufron in Jakarta, recently.

According to him, it was important to consider various aspects, especially considering the track record of KaBIN candidates on the issue of Human Rights (HAM).

“To make better future performance of BIN," said Gufron.

Gufron added, Indonesia is facing an urgent need to continue the reform of BIN. KaBIN is also expected to avoid corruption.
