REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Suparman Marzuki and Taufiqurahman Syahuri named as suspects in a case of alleged defamation of Judge Sarpin Rizaldi. Judicial Monitoring Civil Society Coalition (KPP) assessed that the determination was an odd thing.

"This determination seem odd considering both the commissioner issued a statement in order to carry out the duties of the Judicial Commission," said KPP in a joint press release received by ROL, on Sunday night, July 12.

KPP consisted of MAPPI-FHUI, Indonesia Corruption Watch, the Center for Law and Policy Studies, ELSAM, Institute for Criminal Justice Reform, Legal Aid Foundation, Indonesia Legal Roundtable, and LeIP.

According to KPP, the determination was also weakening against the Judicial Commission. For that they assessed that the weakening efforts have been different because through commissioner criminalization.

Previously, the two commissioners Suparman Marzuki and Taufiqurahman Syahuri, named as a suspect in a case of alleged defamation of Judge Sarpin Rizaldi. The determination was reported by the Head Chief of the Criminal Investigation agency, Police Commissioner General, Budi Waseso.
