REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SAMARINDA -- Construction of a flyover project in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, is expected to be completed as scheduled by the end of this year.
City mayor Syaharie Jaang expressed optimism that the 120 meter Air Hitam flyover would be ready for operation by the end of this year as scheduled.
"Thanks God, work at the project shows good progress giving us reasons for optimism that the Air Hitam flyover would be completed as scheduled," Syahrie said here on Monday.
Syaharie said by July 2015, the project was already 74 percent completed, therefore, by the end of November development should be completed.
He said there was no problem in land clearing , adding the land owners had agreed on price set by the government.
"Payment, however, is yet to be made with fund from the regional budget. We are ready to sign a letter to convince the land owners that they would be paid in compensation for their land," he said.
The mayor also said construction of the Mahkota II bridge project in the sub-district of Palaran is 85 percent completed.
There is still three months to finish the project by the contractor, he said.
Based on the contract the project is to be completed in November this year, he said.
"Fund is available that financing is not a problem from the regional budget . Rp70 billion is set aside for the project," he said.
