Anung noted that the president was chairing the meeting when the Algerian guest arrived at the Merdeka Palace.
"He left the meeting as he had to receive the guest. He asked the coordinating minister for economic affairs to continue the meeting," he remarked.
When questioned about the agenda of the meeting, the cabinet secretary said he had not attended the meeting.
"I did not attend the meeting," he stated.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution remarked that the limited cabinet meeting was held to discuss the plan to realize the LRT project.
"The president led the meeting. However, as he had a guest from Algeria, he asked me and (coordinating minister for maritime affairs) Rizal Ramli to continue the meeting," Nasution noted.
The LRT, which will run on elevated rails in Jakarta, is expected to serve as a feeder for the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT). The construction of the first route of the LRT is expected to start this year.
