REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Candidate of leadership of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Johan Budi Sapto Pribowo, disagreed if the inmate of corruption cases get remission or reduction of the sentence.
"I refused, because we agreed that corruption is an extraordinary crime. It can be compared with a chicken thief,” Johan said, during the interview, in front of nine members of selection committee of KPK, Tuesday (25/8).
Johan was the fourth candidates who followed the interview. However, a selection committee member, Harkristuti Harkrisnowo, asked why the KPK prosecutors did not prosecute the suspect with high prosecution.
"I have a different opinion about statement with empirical data. The charge was based on article alleged, KPK prosecutors can not prosecute more than that has been stipulated in the law, "said Johan.
Johan also argued that the prevention and arrest at KPK should be run simultaneously. In 2015 there were a number of prevention programs, such as family-based education, ‘I, anti-corruption woman’, and anti-corruption training to 1,000 teachers.
KPK is currently developing the State Officials Wealth Report electronics based (e-LHKPN). The e-LHKPN were developed since 2014 and will be launched in this December.
